On July 7, 2014, my wife, Michelle and I were invited to the White House for the first ever LGBT Innovation Summit. The White House summit included a collective of entrepreneurs, innovators, and community leaders who share a desire to tackle the major challenges faced by LGBTQ communities through new solutions using technology, partnerships, mentorship, media, networks, and creative, market-driven, scalable models. For President Barack Obama's 53rd birthday, I sent a copy of Passage Home to my contact at the White House, who personally delivered my novel to the President.
